Auckland Council Seeks Residential Flood Resistance Research

Auckland Council has issued a tender to commission research into property flood resistance for New Zealand residential properties, involving Toka Tū Ake and BRANZ to identify locally appropriate measures. Officials say many overseas approaches do not transfer and stress system-level coordination to avoid maladaptation. Separately, the Geotechnical Society is updating landslide guidance and will host an international risk-assessment workshop in Queenstown in April.
