Amazon Prematurely Alerts AWS Employees Of Layoffs

Amazon on Tuesday appeared to prematurely alert AWS and other corporate employees to layoffs planned for Wednesday by sending a commiseration email and meeting invitation hours early, Reuters reported. The email, signed by Colleen Aubrey, mistakenly said impacted workers in the U.S., Canada and Costa Rica had been informed; Amazon has not confirmed the layoff plan. Reuters said cuts could affect AWS, retail, Prime Video and HR as part of earlier job-reduction plans.
