Amazon MGM Develops AI Studio For Filmmaking

Amazon’s MGM Studio, led by Albert Cheng, is developing AI tools to reduce costs and streamline movie and TV production and will launch a closed beta in March 2026 with results expected by May. The studio, launched in August 2025, aims to improve tasks like character consistency and scene editing, partner with AWS and multiple LLM providers, and emphasizes IP protections and creative oversight.
